Google Ranking Secrets With Video

by Steven Washer on February 28, 2012

Google ranking secrets are closely-kept by Google, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do some pretty simple things with our videos to get them to the top of Google’s search listings.

It all has to do with knowing what you really want and a clever use of long-tail keywords.

To find out exactly how to make your videos rank highly, even without a huge number of views, just keep watching!

Hi Steve
Talk about coincidence – currently carrying out detailed keyword research for a new site I’m currently building at http://startupbusinessmarketing.com as your email dropped in my inbox.

It certainly seems easier to rank with video than it does for pure SEO so eagerly looking to see how real this is!

Will keep you posted.

Hi Steven,

I know this works because I’ve done it myself.

I wanted to prove to a client that video would be one of the most cost effective methods for gaining visibility on Google so I watermarked a PLR slide show video and SEO’d the devil out of it. Mind you, it’s a long tail kw for a local contractor but it’s ranking above all the other local results for both video and “everything else”.

The cool thing is, I wasn’t 100% sure of how to do it – I was just following instructions – but it ranked in 43 seconds and is still there after 2 weeks.

So, adding VSEO as a foot in the door service makes perfect sense to me. I’m going to spend some quality time on this blog and fill in some of the blanks.

Thanks so much for sharing this information.

Cheers,

Brenda

Thanks Steve for your video it is super helpful and I feel inspired to get filming 🙂 My clients often ask how they can get to be #1 on Google and I tell them about using video marketing. Can I share your video on my blog?

Hi Steve,
You present so well on camera. I don’t usually watch these types of promo videos that come through my email, but yours are really nice to view.
Thanks for the tip about the long tail keywords for search. I haven’t actually gone down the route of using words that are low in competition but will certainly now consider it. Kind regards, Ludwina Dautovic

Hi Steve, I loved the video. I appreciate the level of detail you added to it. Most videos like this usually only give you the ‘why’ and not the ‘how’. I will certainly be checking out your other resources. Kind regards, Ludwina Dautovic

Great information! I’ve posted some videos to YouTube, but I know I’m not optimizing them the right way. I’m in front of a camera a lot for my day job and now it’s time to make my camera presence work for me and my business!

Thanks Steve!

Hi
What do you mean with “Long Tailed Keyword in your Script” ?
I understand about the Long Tailed Keyword being in the description, but not the script.
Where do I add this ?

Thank you for the very informative video.

Hi Cornel,

Your script is about one thing, or should be. And that one thing is also the basis of your long-tail keyword. So you should have it in your script naturally in at least 3 places; beginning, middle and end.

Hope that helps!
