There’s got to be a morning after…

by Steven Washer on June 11, 2015

dayafter-225…Good to remember, especially when the night before is so dark.

As I foolishly promised, here’s the follow-up to yesterday’s pre-op “before” video. Maybe instead ofย “foolish”, I should have said “in faith” or something. Well, you be the judge.

Still iPhoning it in, by the way…

Thanks, guys. The BrainyVideo Show is once again cleared for take-off…

Steve… so glad to see you this well this morning. Wishing you a fast and full recovery.

Jeff Harrison June 11, 2015 at 12:21 pm

Prayers and positive energy combined with skilled hands of a surgeon result in a dear person receiving and sending an emotional and uplifting recovery
Stephen, I kept thinking about you yesterday and I am so glad it all turned out well. Bravo. And thank you for sharing the demonstration

Melinda June 11, 2015 at 12:22 pm

Mark Schellhammer June 11, 2015 at 12:23 pm

I’ve enjoyed your videos and you’ve always been responsive and instructive on our emails. I wish you nothing but continued success and good health!

Anne Boyes June 11, 2015 at 12:23 pm

Zarayna June 11, 2015 at 12:32 pm

Well done you! And your surgeon and everyone else.

Please take things easy – no yodelling, or joining in a Pavarotti aria et cetera.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing you whenever you feel like it.

Kindest regards,

Katherine Lucas June 11, 2015 at 12:39 pm

Steven Washer June 11, 2015 at 1:29 pm

I’ll try. It’s hard not to smile when the phone rings now. ๐Ÿ™‚

Morris June 11, 2015 at 12:51 pm

There’s nothing like an experience like this to remind us of our powerlessness. Continue to heal.

Morris June 11, 2015 at 12:53 pm

By the way looking forward to hearing more of what you have to say… since you can.

Roger June 11, 2015 at 1:04 pm

Hey Steven,

Great to see and hear you up and talking the next day! When you first promised a video the next day, I half expected to see a silent movie!

Godspeed to you and I hope your recovery is more full than you, or anyone else could’ve expected.

Looking forward to hearing more of your wit and wisdom in the future, so take care!

James June 11, 2015 at 1:24 pm

Glad to see the miracle. I had a number of people praying for you.

Looking forward to more videos.

James June 11, 2015 at 1:27 pm

Glad to see the miracle. Had a number of people praying for you that I know.

Looking forward to more videos.

Grace June 11, 2015 at 1:34 pm

Awesome! So happy to see that things have improved for you!

Michelle Twohig June 11, 2015 at 1:41 pm

Yay! Remarkable difference, huge relief and hope you can take the time to rest your voice so the “eating part” can be attended to. There are better ways to fit back into one’s “skinny jeans”!

Oh, and great job with the ear worm…now I can’t get rid of “there’s got to be a morning after…”

Take care of yourself.

Zander Townend June 11, 2015 at 1:41 pm

So glad to hear you with more of your voice intact. I just watched both videos today, so I’m of course very happy to hear / see the improvement. Prayers for you, Steve…

Nancy June 11, 2015 at 1:50 pm

Steve, at the risk of sounding superficial, you look YEARS younger today.
That’s a really comprehensive result from throat surgery! It indicates
that everything in you, in the surgeon and his/her assistants in the OR,
and in your surround (near and far) were all aligned. Great to hear
your gentle and thankful voice today!

Steven Washer June 11, 2015 at 2:08 pm

It might have been the substance they injected. When the nurse was prepping, she held it gingerly in her hands and said in an almost worshipful tone “and here’s the magic box.”

The point? I hear it’s often used in plastic surgery.

Alan Cox June 11, 2015 at 1:52 pm

Hi Steve,

I watched your pre-op video and, although I didn’t post my thoughts I was thinking about you a lot. I am thrilled that you are on the road to recovery.

And I don’t think you shared too much with the first video. It moved me and that is a good thing.

Looking forward to seeing more of your fantastic videos and awesome advice.

Alan from Perth Australia.

David Schaefer June 11, 2015 at 2:05 pm

Congrats on your successful operation. Have faith it will only get better.

Bob June 11, 2015 at 2:55 pm

Sounding great Steve. Given the before and after it is amazing what the surgeons did for your voice.
So glad it all worked out for you.

Perry June 11, 2015 at 3:13 pm

Miracles do happen. Things are going to keep getting better and better for you, Steve. Life has a crazy way of throwing us curve balls and we find out how strong we truly are, and we emerge to a new chapter stronger, better, and wiser. You’re there! Wishing you continued improvement.

YAY!!! So glad for you Steve. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Not only because you won’t need to start liking Haggis after all, since apparently you did NOT acquire a Scottish brogue in the process ๐Ÿ™‚

My very best thoughts to you and all those around you –

Larry June 12, 2015 at 2:45 am

Welcome back Steve. Glad you made it through surgery and VERY glad that you can talk, almost normally again.

David June 12, 2015 at 6:45 am

Good morning Steve,
Hearing your voice and seeing you doing so much better has completely made my day!
I know we are all so glad you are on the mend.
God bless and have a terrific, restful weekend.

Amelia June 12, 2015 at 6:57 am

Yay! Yay! Yay! I was so relieved when you started speaking. It was so beautiful to watch yesterday’s video and now todays. You are surrounded by angels : ) Take care xx

Paul June 12, 2015 at 7:45 am

Damn and double damn!!

Here I was practicing your deep gravelly voice so I could do all your voice overs and you could do your Marcel Marceau lip sync to it but alas, I’ll never get to be the voice of Steve Washer.

Just kidding of course, so happy for you Stevie Wonder ๐Ÿ™‚

Don June 12, 2015 at 7:58 am

Well there was lots of asking and praying yesterday – so what else can we do but lots of thanking today! And I’m so pleased that you’re making such good progress.

Keep on progressing, dear Steve, by taking plenty of R&R, so your resources are available to do the healing.

Steve June 12, 2015 at 8:29 am

This is incredibly encouraging. Thank you.
Glad you’ve found insights here worth considering.
Expect more…

Lucien June 12, 2015 at 10:52 am

Hi Steve

Glad to see that the surgery went well. In the first few moments of this video I thought you were not going to speak and like Amelia was relieved to finally hear your voice. Looking forward to seeing more from you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Steve June 12, 2015 at 11:00 am

I’m glad that you and Amelia mentioned that. I wanted to demonstrate a simple way of creating suspense in a video. Since everyone knew the score going in, not speaking initially was a way of raising the suspense, which also makes the video more fun.

There was one other important lesson which no one has commented on yet, but I’ll talk about that another time. Yes, talk. Wow. It’s so nice to be able to write that…

Lisa June 12, 2015 at 11:47 am

!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! You sound like yourself again!!!!

Judy Jackson June 12, 2015 at 12:38 pm

Two vocal cords, one vocal cord… sound great both ways. And this new voice is very hypnotizing, seductive… could be a very good thing in marketing… really keeps your attention for listening to stories. Will be very interesting ‘hearing’ updates of your voice as you heal… keep ’em coming.

guy June 14, 2015 at 7:49 pm

You look great. Things are going up from here my friend.
