Why suspense in your videos is so powerful

Why would you want to use suspense in your marketing videos? Well, it’s an amazing way to hold your viewer’s interest. It does the work of a hundred other tricks. And it’s one of the most authentic ways to demonstrate what you’ve got.

But here’s the thing. No one understands what suspense is really all about. They tell you it’s about dropping open loops, making the viewer wait for it, wait for it…and it’s none of those things.

At its heart, suspense is actually a very simple concept. It’s just that we have a tendency to over-complicate it.

When we over-complicate it, we water it down. And that’s not a good thing.

On the other hand, when you understand the 3 simple steps to “doing” suspense, you may never want to go without it again!

In fact, applying suspense to your marketing video scripts will now make some of those inexpensive animated video programs work for you. So open up your world to the magic of suspense. Just don’t take too long.

After all, what if this idea spreads?

So check out the steps and see what you think…

Steven has just broken up with his girlfriend of three years. It was a nasty breakup, ending with Steven’s personal belongings being thrown out on to the street. Feeling rejected and sad, Steven stops in at a local bar to visit with his buddy Joe the bartender. After 5 or 6 beers, a beautiful young lady sits down beside Steven and says “Hi sailor, want to have some fun tonight?”

What does Steven do? Watch the next episode to find out…

So is that a “cross-cut” means, or is it when she snips the vocal cords? Hmm…
