Thanks so much for this video Steven! Google HOA has so much potential and you are correct…is isn’t that easy to run one, due to technical glitches. And I am tech savvy! Things that should be easy to do are not, at least not yet. And with Google’s constantly changing algorithms, it’s like every week is a new learning curve. What worked last week in a test, no longer works this week, etc. But, wow, the potential for Google HOA is incredible, so I pursue it like a dog with a bone. Persistence will pay off! I signed up for your kit and am looking forward to learning more.
Well, they may keep changing the rules till they find some they like, but so as long as we don’t get stuck thinking that “this is it forever” we should be fine.

how or can I use an external camera versus just the webcam..if so how? I have a couple different cameras and one has firewire, but laptop, even though it is new does not?

Hangouts doesn’t allow a firewire connection. You can use a USB camera. There are some webcams that shoot 720p, so they have great resolution, or you can get a special HDMI card for your desktop computer so that you can use a nicer video camera.
So if my camera and my laptop both have HDMI connections I can use my camera? If so I am good to go with equipment, which would be great Steve!

Well, the answer is “maybe”. Not all cards are compatible, so you’ll have to test it first. I wish it was more cut and dried, but it’s always good to test anyway. Thanks!!

I’m in the technology industry and a big fan of Google Apps. However, enabling Hangouts for our Google Apps domain is proving to be the single greatest navigational challenge I’ve faced in 30 years in the technology industry.
Google has made the new admin UI so incredibly simple, that it’s almost impossible find anything that isn’t associated with one of the nine, large icon options in the Admin Options screen.
Fortunately most of us don’t have those same challenges, as we’re only using Hangouts to have meetings and webinars. I think if I had to navigate Google’s UI, I might lose my mind…
Looking forward to our show… The interactive part is the best part of hangouts. It makes it a real ‘conversation’ This Will be Fun!
Choices choices which replay do I watch. They have moved the Video Genesis livestream forward a few hours so that we Brits can watch it and still get some sleep. Live with no replay starting at 2 am meant it was starting to get light before I went to bed. Their day of rest meant some of us could catch up on sleep both in the afternoon and at night. A 10 pm start is a lot easier to cope with.
There again I can win whatever I do because I bought VG though your link. I know you are not a fan of what they call read and speak but the things they covered in that module on producing audio can be used whatever style of video you are narrating. Not just audio for video either but podcasts or audio books.
I want to make more use of hangouts hence my confusion on what to do tonight. Why is life so complicated!
